Informational letter 2

The organizing committee of the International Conference “Arctic Archeology” informs you that the dates of the conference are finally approved: November 19 – 23, 2017. The program has been formed, abstracts are being printed. Due to the fact that there are a lot of applications for the conference and it will be held in the format of a plenary session, the organizing committee reserves the right to suggest to some participants submitting a report in the form of a poster. (You can find requirements for posters in Informational Letter 1). All abstracts of oral reports and posters will be published. Invitations will be sent out before the beginning of June 2017.

Informational Letter 1

In recent decades, an idea of human sustainable development in the Arctic became one of the objectives of the Arctic human research. The key component of this idea is the existence of traditional culture in historical perspective and possibilities of its development potential in the future. The history of the traditional culture of the Arctic and Sub-Arctic areas of the world can be reconstructed based on the archeological finds – the more ancient the studied period, the more important they become. Despite the logistics difficulties and the high costs of the works, archeological researches in the Arctic became more intensive lately. The significant principle of such researches is their interdisciplinarity.
