Requirements for abstracts and posters

By the beginning of the conference it is planned to publish a bilingual (Russian and English) abstract book. Materials for publication should be prepared in accordance with the requirements specified below. The deadline for abstract submission is 1 April 2017.

Preparation of abstracts:

The abstract text may not exceed 3000 characters including spaces.

Margins – 20 mm from each side, line spacing 1,5, font – “TimesNewRoman” – font size 12 (for all text, including the title of the article and the author), paragraph indent – 1 cm. Do not insert page numbers. Do not use styles or automatic modes. In the upper right corner the surname and initials of the author / authors and the city (in brackets) should be indicated in a single line. Title should be in the next line. All text should be justified.  

If necessary, you can specify the source of research funding (grants, sponsorship, etc.). This information is placed at the beginning or end of the text in a separate paragraph (publishing this information in the form of automatic footnotes is not allowed).

You should apply only italic formatting to add visual emphasis to parts of the text.

Inclusion of tables, charts, photos and drawings in the text is not allowed (you should create individual files under the appropriate numbers).

If you have illustrations, references to them are obligatory. You should indicate only the position or positions (eg: pic. 1, 5).

Inserting references:

References should be inserted in square brackets according to the scheme: author / authors, year of publication, pages [Baulo, 2011. P. 24] or catchword title of the collective work, year, pages. If there are references to several works by the same author published in the same year, letter codes are entered (in Cyrillic).

General bibliography in alphabetical order is placed at the end of the text.

Bibliography schemes:

For monographs: Name of the author / authors, year of publication, title, place of publication, publishing house, number of pages (Baulo A.V. Ancient bronze of the ethnographic complexes and occasional collections. Novosibirsk: Publishing House of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of SB RAS, 2011. 259 pp.)

For articles in continuing publications and digests: Name of the author / authors, year, title // Name of edition, place, publishing house, volume (issue and so on), pages (Murlinsky "treasure" – the composition of the finds and their analogues // Khanty-Mansiysk district in the last mirror. Ed. J.A. Yakovlev. Tomsk-Khanty-Mansiysk: Publishing House of Tomsk University, 2014. pp. 95-110). For digests it is required to indicate the editor / editors!

For articles in magazines: Name of the author / authors, year, title // Name of edition, place of publication, number (volume, issue), pages (Vasiliev S.A. Development of the mountains of the Western Sayan by Stone Age man // SA. № 1. 1992. pp. 18 -25).

Abbreviations must be accompanied by a list of them with full interpretation. We kindly ask you to use only common abbreviations.

Publication of 1-2 high-quality black-and-white illustrations (in TIFF format. Scan resolution at least 300 dpi. LZW compression) is possible. Illustrations in JPEG format are not accepted. All lines should be clear. All margins should be not less than 20 mm. Positions are put under the image with Arabic numerals in italics. Images should be accompanied by a separate file with the signatures according to the scheme: Pic. Common name: 1– name of the position; 2 – name of the position, etc. (font for the numbering of individual items in the picture – "TimesNewRoman" Italics). There must be a linear scale in the pictures.

Within the framework of the conference a poster session is scheduled. Participants of the conference should prepare posters by themselves:

  1. Poster size. Each participant of the poster session will be provided with space for a printed poster. Posters can be printed on a sheet of A1 size (594 x 841mm, portrait or landscape orientation) and of A0 size (841 x 1189 mm, portrait orientation or landscape orientation).
  2. Poster design. Each poster should include the title of the report (you should use at least 64-70 size of type), the names of the authors, as well as the name of the organization where the research was performed. Since the text of your poster should be easily readable from a distance, do not use a font size smaller than 20-24.

Within the framework of the conference working hours of the poster session will be designated. At this time participants must be at their stands in order to answer their colleagues’ questions.
